IF NOT FOR THE UKRAINIANS is a 15-minute English-language documentary short, created by a young team led by director Alex Makarov with creative director Kateryna Kostenko. The film tells the story of Ukrainians who changed the course of world history and civilization — in literature, music, cinema, ballet, aerospace and rocket engineering, military and political history, IT, and beyond.

Presented in Kyiv to mark the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, the film has since been screened across Europe and shown at the United Nations, UNESCO, Ukrainian embassies worldwide, and on the websites of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Parliament.
